First day of school

Yesterday was the first day of school. Paige was really excited to go and skipped off to her classroom with no hesitation. When I picked her up from daycare and asked her how the day went she told me good. The five things I learned about her day were: She had chocolate milk at snack. She didn't have the cupcakes that Bridgett brought for her birthday ("I was the only one that didn't have one"). She didn't make any new friends with her classmates ("I already have friends"), Mrs. Soloman talked to her in line and told her she should talk to her classmates and participate in activities. She played play dough at choice time. Paige told me they played a game and "Some boy picked me mom. I didn't want to tell him my name and all the kids were looking at me, so I just looked at my knees." I explained she needs to participate and she told me, "o.k. mom." I was a little nervous as to what the future school year would hold for her/us. However, today was a whole new story. Her five things were: I had chocolate milk today. I ate a chocolate muffin for snack. I played a game with everyone (Who Stole the Cookie from the Cookie Jar) and told everyone my name. I invited Emma to my next party. I went to the sand table during choice time and asked if I could help them, but they didn't need any help. (Hooray for the great day)!

As I was making supper last night, it was pretty quiet in the family room. I glanced in and the picture above it what I saw. I think they missed each other:) I know I won't always get a pictures like this, so I must cherish the ones I do.
